It's raining here. Has been off and on for seems like a couple of weeks. Very fitting for today's post.
A few days ago I asked my boy what word I should choose for the day. It was a "woo woo" moment as he said, "Water." I had been thinking of using that exact word! I had realized that word would be a perfect way to kickoff a birthday campaign through one of my favorite charities: charity: water. What better time to do this than one month from my birthday: today.
I first heard about charity: water when I attended the World Domination Summit in July 2012 and heard the charity's founder, Scott Harrison, speak. His speech was so inspiring. By the end, all of us in attendance were on our feet and agreeing to give up our birthdays in order to help people in other nations have clean water. Giving up your birthday means that instead of receiving presents, you request donations. I stood with everyone that day firmly intending to have a birthday campaign. Then life got in the way.
Scott Harrison has a fascinating personal story. You can watch an interview of him sharing this story here. It is well worth your time.
So my friends, I'm asking that you please donate to my birthday campaign. Any amount will do. I would be so grateful. And bringing a smile on a child's face. You can find out more and donate here. And please share this post with others. Thanks!
